Restrain Your Desires
- when I need the reminder that desire is suffering, and that I must be picky with my desires.
Use the External Push
- motivation and energy are perishable, and this helps me capitalize when they are given externally
- there are fundamentally two modes of being, one where you’re intrinsically motivated, and are carrying yourself, and one where you’re extrinsically motivated and are being pushed by someone else
- aim to be in the former, but recognize when you’re in the latter, and capitalize on it.
